Ryad Boudebbouz to Echorouk: “I am living a beautiful dream with the Desert Warriors”

The new Algerian player Ryad Boudebbouz was surprised by the warm reception by the Algerian fans since he joined Crans Montana training camp. He said he lives beautiful days and was shocked by the presence of thousands of Algerian fans everywhere.

 

• Echorouk: What can you say about Crans Montana training camp?

• Riad Boudebbouz: In this training camp, I realized that playing for Algeria is not like playing for other teams. When you play with the Desert Warriors, you become popular and feel that you represent a whole nation and population.

• Echorouk: What has changed in Boudebbouz since joining the Desert Warriors?

• Riad Boudebbouz: I won people’s hearts and I can’t even walk in streets, it is good, I even find difficulties to go out from hotel.

• Echorouk: Is this bothering you?

• Riad Boudebbouz: No, I am a player who appreciates fans and explicitly I am not annoyed and I always try to satisfy my fans.

• Echorouk: After the end of Crans Montana training camp, you participation in the World Cup is confirmed because Megheni has been officially removed by coach Saadane. What are your feelings?

• Riad Boudebbouz: I am very happy to participate in the World Cup, but I am not sure so far, because football brings many surprises. I have to wait until June 10 in order to confirm this participation. It is true I am the youngest player in the team but that would be in my favour, and I will be able to participate in many World Cups (laughs).

• Echorouk: You participated with your teammates in the last two training sessions. Can we say that you completely recovered from injury?

• Riad Boudebbouz: Thanks Allah, I can say I recovered, as I trained on Tuesday and Monday and did not feel pain. It is good and I thank the medical team that helped me recover as quickly as possible.

• Echorouk: Will you play against Ireland?

• Riad Boudebbouz: Physically I am ready, but it is up to Coach Rabah Saadane to decide.

• Echorouk: After passing 15 days with the Algerian team, do you think Algeria has enough chances to succeed in the World Cup?

• Riad Boudebbouz: Since joining Algeria’s team, I realized that its elements enjoy collective and family atmosphere and this would largely help them reach big achievements during the World Cup. Frankly, I started to believe that we can go further in this competition and we will say our word in South Africa.

• Echorouk: What is you favourite position and did you speak to Rabah Saadane about this matter?

• Riad Boudebbouz: Sadane knows me good. I am a midfielder and I can play in both left and right wings. The most important thing is playing for Algeria and I am ready to play in any position.

• Echorouk: What can you say about Morad Megheni’s surprising decision?
•  

• Riad Boudebbouz: Morad Megheni is an excellent player, and everyone in France recognizes his talent. I wished he played in World Cup, especially as he contributed in Algeria’s qualification to the WC and Africa Cup final, but this is football and he has to focus on the way to recover for a strong return.
